本會推動兒童少年英語閱讀，素有經驗和成效。本課程乃採用本會現正於《公教報•喜樂少年》
向中小學生所推介的英文好書和電影佳作，並以獨特的視聽活動和閱讀活動，結合寫作練習，
幫助同學利用暑假，提高閱讀能力，建立寫作的興趣和基本能力。
課程特色

升中學二年級及升中學三年級
暑期寫作活動課程
Summer Writing Course
本港中學會考英語科自07年開始，語言的應用能力和表達能力已成為評量的標準。
本中心學生平時學習多元題材，習慣交流及反應，已初具應付聽說考試的能力，
若能及早了解寫作和口語演示的技巧，將有助應付「校本評核」，
更有利於應付未來「以能力為本」的學習和考試。
課程特色及導師簡介如下：
SUMMER WRITING COURSE
The aim of the Summer Writing Course is for students to learn strong writing skills
which will help them progress through their academic life.
Emphasis will be on concise and grammatically correct English writing techniques, and students will examine writing in a variety of different forms.
A few identifiable grammatical problems experienced by speakers of English
as a second language will be revised and vocabulary and popular English phrases will be
strengthened through game play.
At the conclusin of the course, students will have gained confidence in their writing abilities and have a reference portfolio of their work throughout the course.
Topics that will be studied throughout the five-week course are:
Persuasive writing - students will examine advertisements and other forms of public statements paying attention
to the language used and the role of persuasive writing in today's media.
Leads and endings - students will go through English newspapers and magizines to find examples of
strong writing techniques. They will be guided to look at the importance of 'hooking your readers' and clear, concise endings.
Letter writing - students will examine many forms of letter writing (formal/informal) and students will have the opportunity to
practise different forms of letter writing experimenting with tone and language.
English movie day - students will attend a screening of an English movie and afterwards discuss the various elements
that create a good story/film. Students will be asked to write a critical review of the film, script dialogue and write a recount of the day.
Creative fiction writing - The route of plot and character and the ways to enhance story writing including setting, people,
time and action will be examined. An excursion to an outdoor area included.
ABOUT THE TEACHER
Audrey Currie is a writer, playwright and a performer. She studied performance arts in New York, London and Australia and has written and directed several short movies.
Her plays have been performed in Asia and Australia.
Audrey has a degree in English and completed postgraduate studies in media arts and production. She currently lives in Hong Kong.

暑期中文修養與寫作課程
本課程《中文修養與寫作》旨在提高學子的中文寫作能力及豐富其中文修養；
課程透過一些生動的解說和有效的寫作實踐，使學子明瞭中文的多方面趣味，
從而強化他們的中文修養，並在寫的實踐中漸進式提升其寫作能力；
為達到中文講、寫、聽、讀四方兼擅，本課程特別釐訂一些教學與實踐的方針，
包括：
- 中文的生活化和生活化的中文
- 修辭的求變目的及其活學活用
- 寫作的方法首重設計的構想
- 閱讀的多種方法及訊息的尋找
- 文言、英文、方言對白話文不成妨礙反而有助
- 不斷的讀及不斷的寫：剪報、日記、周記、速寫的利用
本課程將會選出迄今所見的重要寫作名篇若干，深入解讀，從中貫徹
講、聽、寫、讀四個語文範疇，讓學子的腦海中，永遠浮現最主要的經典名作，以垂典範。
導師簡介
黃子程教授為香港大學哲學博士，任職香港理工大學中文雙語系，
學術研究以香港文學為主，尤專注於香港的雜文創作。
在任教香港理工大學之前，黃子程於七八十年代二十年間，先後任職電台、電視台、
報章雜誌出版等各大傳媒機構，並於各大中文報章撰寫專欄。
至九十年代，黃子程全面撤出傳媒界，潛心大專教學工作，二００七年退休，
轉任理工大學中國商業中心研究員一職，業餘仍執教鞭，於理大、浸大、城大及
樹仁大學專教創意寫作課程。
